I know the lake, but I SUCK in the spring So advise from me is worth about as much as a freezer to an eskimo.
I would say stick with the edges of the humps and points and if it is sunny move up and try for cruising fish.

Ive been there plenty. Its a tough spring bite but at times you can get some big smallies. If the weather stays cold as I think it will you will be fishing deep. Years ago we used to drag tubes on humps and shelves. Today I would rather use silver buddies. Just position your boat over the deep edges of the drops and use short casts and just hop the bait in small hops. Next if you do not like to do that use either spinnerbaits rattle traps or jerkbaits. If you do that you have to fish the windy shore thats real important. No wind no fast fishing in Long Pond. There are largemouth in there but not a lot. They will be roaming the shore but there is not a lot of structure to stop there roaming.
