Just a word of advice, be cautious if you live in North MS and need a insurance estimate. I took my boat to Preformance Marine in Columbus MS to have a estimate wrote. I arrived at 1:30 and they viewed my boat and checked compression on the the engine and spent a total of 30-45 minutes tops. They wrote the estimate and faxed to my insurance agent and adivsed me to leave my boat because the insurance adjuster would probably need to see it. So i left the boat with them overnight and the next day the insurance agent called and said my boat was totaled and we settled with a amount and i kept the boat. I called Will ( the owner of the business) and informed him of the situation and told him i would be coming to get my boat. He said then that i would have to pay to get it. I told him i would be happy to pay him a hour labor rate and he said that he was to recieve 10% of the adjusted amout of the insurance claim. I have never heard of this before. He was tryin to sell me a boat at his shop and was not happy that i didn't buy at this time. I don't think 426 dollars is fair for a hour of his time and a estimate. However i payed him because if he can live with it so can i. Just be prepared if you deal with him this is how he operates. I would have thought that a RANGER boat dealer with 20 years of business would have not acted this way. It has cost him one customer and i will make sure i inform my fellow fishing friends to do business somewhere else.
