The whole process of taking a pee test is kind of humiliating and it seems insulting to not be trusted by my employer. BBBuuuutttt...I'll pee in a cup everyday if thats what I takes to pay the bills, put food on the table and gas in the boat.

back in the day we always knew(big white truck pulled up to the loading dock first thing that morning) so it was either run and hide...but ive taken tons of em..part of the corporate life

I worked for ExxonMobil & after the boat hit the rock, as a Manager I was subjected to random drug tests. They usually came shortly after lunch.

If you held a position that was deemed "critical" in operations, drug testing was common place. All involved in any type of accident were subjected to drug tests. ExxonMobil's standards were much more rigorous than State or Federal standards.

I don't do dope and work for an agency that loves to put people in jail for having it and sometimes doing it while driving. But IMO the only people that get upset over a random drug test at work is those that do drugs. I wouldn't want to work with somebody thats into that sort of vice.

Very random. Sometimes 3-4 times a year. I jsut tell em to stand back until its completely unrolled.

Agree 1000000%. I had to take one when I was offered the position I have now. Didn't bother me and never will. It's their company and their rules. I don't, and never have done any kind of drugs so it doesn't phase me at all.

I clouds your judgement. It doesn't matter wheather it is drugs or alcohol. A company does not want to be held liable for the actions of an employee. The idea of I did it on my own time does not exist anymore. If you are employed, you are a responsible representative of that company 24 hours a day.

Ours is random, in my 20 yrs, Ive taken 2, once when I was coming on board and once last yr. We are also subject to polygraph tests every 5 yrs.

When you are hired and if you get hurt on the job. No random testing where I work.

I have nothing to fear, but I still think it's wrong in almost all circumstances. Airlines, trucks, buses, trains, I don't have a problem with. This country was formed on freedom. Pissing in a jar for someone else to scrutinize doesn't sound that free to me. Someone can be a serial prescription drug abuser, and it's fine. Pot, lock them up! Personally, I don't see the difference. I could give a rats ass if the person working the cash register, or making my fries, smokes weed off the job. If they're not doing their job, fire them, until then, who cares. Let's say they make everyone take a urine test before they buy a gun, how would you feel about it then? True most would have nothing to fear, but I would feel like it's a violation of my 4th amendment rights. Would you?
