My current drive is 100 miles each way. It was about
15 minutes but we moved back to Indy from
Bloomington. I own my own company so I now
make the commute1-2days a week. The other
days Cell phone/laptop. I have really good people
who know what they are doing and do it well.

I commuted 100 miles each way for a while, it took the same 1:40 mins as many times driving 40 miles when I commuted in Nashville TN or Raleigh NC. I tend to wear out audible or other library app for e-books.

The 100 mile commute was back when we had to double swipe for a tank of gas. Thankfully I only had to go in about 9 days a month. The long commutes in Raleigh and Nashville were a daily grind.

7 miles from home to work for last 30 years. Home for lunch everyday. Not a bad deal at all.

Used to drive an average of 90 miles one way doing construction. Looking back that was just crazy especially when it was on my dime.

Field service tech here. I've driven 7+ hours one way for a job and as little as half a block from my house for others.

47 miles, 1 hour one way on the button. Used to live in the suburbs 7 minutes from work. Moved north to a rural location and every evening when I get home, I am "up north" where it's peaceful, quiet, and lakes are 5 - 10 minutes away (that used to take me 1 hour to go to/from).

Anything over an hour drive is long to me. Longest drive was hour fifteen and that didn't last long for me.

I have passed up a promotion in the past. Granbury to Mckinney. Was about an hour and half, sometimes longer, commute but mostly traffic. To me, just isn't worth it. I was willing to drive from Granbury to Arlington about 50 minutes but even though it's a little much. Right now, my office is 5 miles from my house or 7 minutes with 3 red lights. It's hard to give that up.

A long commute to me is if I need to hop on the freeway.
Growing up and learning to drive in that combat zone of Chicago, I made a pledge to avoid commuting to work more than 15 minutes. It's worked out the past 40 years. My low blood pressure reflects this.

First job out of college was 1.7 miles and second (current) job is 1.4 miles away....go home for lunch every day, it would be really difficult to give it up for a longer commute.

14 minutes from my house if I go straight to the office, depending on the two stoplights.

Right now I am at 15-17 minutes, which is about 14 miles on 2 lane highways. I had a summer where I commuted 40 minutes on a 4 lane, but traffic was never bad. I think if I had to commute longer than 30 minutes, the compensation better be worth it. I'm already spending 9 hours a day at work, a half hour driving, a half hour getting ready, and 8 hours sleeping. I like my free time.
