Although it's not perfect, I do use the Shallow Water Highlight tool on my Lowrance to shade the shallow water to whatever the depths are missing. If it's 11 feet low, than I highlight from 0 - 11 feet. This at least gives me a better picture of what I really facing. Helps my find good humps, points and other high priority structures underwater.
Thanks Josh! Been spending lots of time playing with my Touch 12 and Navionics combo; just found the shallow water highlight the other day. Like you said, better than nothing but hopefully Lowrance incorporates this soon! By the way, I know you're schedules probably jam packed but I'd love to get out on the water sometime and learn some more ins/outs to get the most out of these units! Take care bud!

No problem. I keep a busy schedule but always got time to hit the water.

Until then, I'm planning a fishing electronics webinar for next month covering Navionics, Lowrance and Hydrowave. Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Seth Feider will join me to handle the Humminbird questions. If you'd like, I can send your email a invite. Would be awesome to have you tune it.

    Tight lines Justin.

OK guys. I've got a problem with trying to update my card. I just renewed my freshest data subscription but my the program is telling me that my card is full. I'm guessing what happened was that all of my way points saved to my Navionics card instead of the SD card in my HDS unit. However, I'm not seeing anything in the main files directory on the Navionics card that looks like it is a waypoint. Although, most of the files are things that I'm not sure what they are for. Any idea how I can fix this problem?

Certainly you didn't have your map card unlocked when in the unit???????????????

What Navionics version do you have and what is the card capacity?

It's the Platinum North card and I have no idea what the card capacity would be. But it does look like it was unlocked. I know I never intentionally unlocked it but I never knew what that feature was for.

When the card is in your computer for updating is the only time it should be unlocked.
The "lock" is Write Protect--Read Only.

You should have a 16 GB microSD card inside a SD card adaptor. If you renewed an older Platinum card with a smaller capacity card, contact Navionics to get a replacement in the 16 GB size.

The files on the card should be:
    Navionic folder
    config document
    contents document
    service document
    warnings_acknowlegement .pdf file (Acrobat)

In the Navionic folder is the Charts folder and in the Charts folder is list of 4 Platinum features folders, and below that is the list of states with several areas for each state.

Then I do have the 16 GB card since it is a micro SD inside of the adaptor. Here is a list of the files that are currently on my card. Some files are obvious that I ned them on there because they label regions. For example, SWMN11.nv2 is for SW Minnesota. However, there are plenty of other files that I'm not sure of, and therefore, not sure if I should delete them. Basically, all I want to do is delete all of my waypoints off of it so it will be able to update again.

Folders labeled 3D, image, PB, topdown, and UGC.

Not including the obvious files that are necessary for the card, I have the following types of files on the card in the corresponding folders:

UGC folder: .ugc All of these files have names like 9_102_172.ugc
Topdown folder: .TPG All of these files have names like 591FF42.TPG
    PB folder is empty
Image folder: .G1 All of these files have names like 29567.G1
3D folder: .tdm All of these files have names like 5987515.tdm

Is any of this helpful? I've been searching the web trying to find out which files should not be here but I've come up empty. I'm out of ideas short of contacting Navionics. The last time I did that, it took weeks to hear anything back.

Don't open any of the folders to see the contents.
Just check the folders themselves to see if you have more than I listed.

Also for the card itself, check Properites to see the USED Space and FREE Space.

OK. When I open the card, there are three items showing: contents, Navionics folder, and Warning and Acknowledgement PDF. Nothing else is there until I open the Navionics folder which will open to Charts and then all of the files that I listed in the last post.

Something is not right. A new card will automatically connect to the Navionics server and lead you through the registration and installation process to get Chart Installer on your computer. Then it will talk to the Navionics server with Chart Installer and do an update.
    You don't have those files.

Did you look at the microSD card to see what size it is?

Don't hesitate calling Navionics. I had issues with an update card I got recently and they talked me through it. My card had somehow gotten formatted so I lost all of the files. If they cant figure it out (which they couldn't for mine), they just had me delete everything on the card and reformat it, then emailed me the necessary files to load back on the card. I picked the phone up very upset and doubtful and by the time I hung up I was already saving data to the card.

You have one of the older ones that needs to be replaced so it can handle all the updates.

CALL Navionics to get the 16 GB card.

Yes, Navionics+ comes with no maps. You select what to download to the card from anywhere in the country up to 2GB of data.

One lake, two lakes, 10 lakes, 100 lakes ect.
You can delete what you have on the card and do it again if you want.

You have a year to do that and it includes the Sonar Charts program.

If you already own a Navionics product, you can get the Navionics+ for $99 by purchasing the Navionics Update card. Your current card is used to activate the Update card to make it the Navionics+ version. You still have the use of your old card--just cannot activate another Update card.
