If you look at Tommys pics you can see how deep that v is,it more like a walleye boat than a flat bottom bassboat....you guys need to see these things run in the big waves,my buddy with the puma was riding next to it it ,all you see is a wall of water 12 ft in to the air when it hits a wave.he said I see why it rides so good..all the water is shoved right into the air,not into the bottom of the boat.....I guess this smooth cut into the wave takes alot of the jarring out, you don't get that pounding shock of other bassrigs and some runabouts I have been in...that why these boats are so nose heavy also, keeps the nose planted tight against the water. And if you have ever been in a cat you feel the difference.the cat will lift the bow with very little trim, the charger takes alot of trim....2 different boat designs, made for different types of water....

here is a good pic of a flat bottom boat, now look at Tommys there is 30 inches difference the skeeter has a 12 inch now the charger has a 40 inch </td></tr></table>

Where's that vid you were going to post?

You can talk all day son, I want to see it. Or better yet, how bout y'all run your tails up here and make me eat crow. You know what my offer is. Read up a few posts.

Matt Why dont you bring your boat down to me neck of the woods and ill video it for ya.I mean from PB2 to the damn.If you say Chargers chew up the rough stuff and can run in 3-4 footers than this will be your test. You say they are the best rough water boat and better than Champs well im calling you out.If i can do it on a Holiday weekend in my 19' Champ then you shouldnt have any Problems.Lets but your money where your mouth is.

2 questions for you great lake guys?

I know that all 3'rs are not created equal. I was curious what is the typical spacing on the waves up there? Spacing can be a bigger factor than height.

Also, why use a bass boat instead of bigger/deeper all species boat or cc bay boats?

All The Great Lakes are different. You can see anything from gentle (but huge) swells to verticle wave faces and the frequency, (spacing), can change within minutes.
As to why a bass boat, I can only speak for my self but if I only fished out on the main lake for smallmouths I would certainly consider a walleye boat. I also fish a lot for largemouth in the bays and harbors and the bass boat is more versatile IMO.
Don't know if it was broadcast in your area, (regional programming), but the FLW walleye guys were up on Green Bay a couple of weeks ago, and they took their lumps as well.

    Re: (K-ach)

I've seen LOZ, Lanier, and the Fox Chain on holiday weekends, Does it absolutely suck when there are 50' sea rays, carvers, marquis, and cruisers everywhere, yup. I will say though the great lakes makes those tracks look like child's play. It's only boat wakes. Plus at least you have tons of good scenery. All we get on most of the great lakes is big waves.

    Where's that video?

I thought it was looking eerily similiar to the video I posted. Did you hear the sounds of the passenger as they were bouncing all over the place. LOL

Hi...I'm currently running a Charger 496 with a 250 Pro XS on Lake Ontario in normally 2' to 2.5' waves and have no problem running in the 50's.You have to realize Charger hulls are designed like a cruiser hull. Most All Bass boats run the top of the waves Chargers are designed to run through them..that's why their the best in rough water.I had a Bass Cat "Jaguar" last year and found there is a difference when I figured out where the Charger sweet spot was.
