You have much better leverage with the power poles compared to the Talon because they get get farther apart as they are deployed. That is why I went with the power poles. I like to fish out the side of the boat so with two Power Poles I can be in a 10-15mph wind and 1-2'ers and hold sideways all day long. My buddy with the twin talons cannot. If you are only going to get one then potato/potato but with 2 the power pole wins imo.

I call BS on the leaking PP. Maybe it was leaking but I installed my buddies or helped and it was a PAIN to pull the thing down with no hydro fluid in it. So that is BS that the poles fall down without fluid.

ONLY thing I don't like bout my two talons is if your in current, or you put a load of some sort on the spikes, when you retract them they make a loud "snap" like there's a pin or something hanging up inside the housing and finally let's go.
Anyone else have that? I lubed them with a little dry silicone hoping itd help but not much
2 talons replace a fishin buddy
dont need anyone backing me in the water anymore
stopping to pee is a breeze
    stopping to retie too
you get snagged close to shore, you can stop before your tm grinds into the shallows/and un snag your bait
i "frog legged" my talons to get a wider stance. You do lose a few inches of depth this way but I can hold tight when I'm perpendicular to the wind
and like Doug say, they do slow your drift down in deeper water
be sweet if the had a little drift sock you could secure to the spike
either way you go I'm all about a "shallow water anchor"
