Re: Best Reel $100 or less (chadku)

Stay with Shimano if you want something to last. I have Shimano's that last better than 20 years and they still work great. BPS are good for about 5-10 years at best.

What's your favorite?</td></tr></table> I have to add my 2 cents worth,I have 5 of them and it's the first reel I reach for out of 60 to chose from, bought on sale for $99.99 Browning Midas.Have 2 Browning Citori for $79.99 they are almost as smooth. If I was going to buy a new reel it would be the Johnny Morris Carbonlite at $129.99,11 bearings,wt.5.9 oz.I am sure they will be on sale for less than $100.00.

If I have a BPS reel and it lasts 5-10 years I think that is all you can ask of it and I would be totally fine with that. It has given you good service and after 5-10 years new technolgies come out anyways and its time to re-ante up and buy a new reel.
