yeah he just proved that FFS can be used in less water then what people say it can be used.. was cool seeing perspective mode on some guys though, that looked awesome

we hear FFS is a tool and that's it, it is far more than a tool. without it, welcher would not have caught what he caught, a tool will assist, ffs allowed him to catch the weight that he did. to me a tool would be my rod, reel, not an electronic device this far advanced. I do not understand why people get offended by it. If it is was a tool, not everyone would be getting it and we wouldn't be seeing what we are seeing. It is a definite game changer and an advantage on the fish. Every pro has it and they all but a few use it to their disposal against each other. some are just better at than others. However, a guy still needs to locate fish and that means he needs to understand bass behavior. I mean you could ffs the channel of the James river all you want but you going to find a bass there. But we must be honest and call it what it is. FFS in this tournament for 100% fact allowed him to catch 118 lbs. evryone of those fish he saw on screen and casted to them. period. right or wrong? I am not the judge of that

different fish in all lakes of course but it is crazy how many different fish are swimming those waters they are fishing .. like randy howell said fish were all over the screen he assumed a lot were trash fish by how they swam/acted.. thats another thing too, know what are bass and what are not, size etc.. if Welcher saw a small one he kept it moving

In a few years we will know? It's been out since 2018. 7 years the technology has been used daily.

How many more years do you need to know??

so you think 7 years is long enough? in 2018 not many had it, in the last 3 years many more have it and many more will have sooner. then we will see

There has been no drama at 3 of the weigh ins this year , 2 of them was over on day 3 and the classic was basically a blowout also ! There guys that are in the hunt to win at BASS is less than half the field , most if we are honest aren’t in the hunt !

All these suggestions that fishing for spawning bass and FFS are going to kill a fishery is simply nonsense. The average female bass spawns around 7 times in her life and lays on average 12,000 eggs per spawn. That is a total of 84,000 eggs in her life time. ONLY 8 (her and the 7 males) of those 84,000 eggs have to survive to adulthood for the bass population to remain the same long term. If only 1% of the bass fry, in a spawn, survive the first year that means that a bass will replace herself and her male partners 840 times each year. The reality is that there is no amount of bed fishing, FFS fishing, traditional fishing or meat fishing that is going to even begin to put a dent in the bass population. In Japan, they have actively been trying to eradicate largemouth bass for years and have discovered that absolutely nothing can do away with an established bass population. If your lake is going through a downturn, it is easy to blame fishing pressure or tournament mortality but the truth is that if a bass population declines at all, it is in all likelihood a water quality issue. Fishermen simply can not, through any form of rod and reel fishing method, have any significant impact on fish populations, to suggest otherwise is simply giving us WAY more credit than is reality.

Interesting conversation Mercer had with Jocumensen on his pod cast. The whole thing is good. They get into the FFS thing at 1:40. Mercer speaking for himself and not for BASS seems to imply changes could be coming.
