I was about to call BS too because I've seen drag boat racers hit water going pretty fast BUT they have collars on to keep their head from snapping back...so yes, I'd say it's definitely possible...

You get thrown from a boat with a helmet on and your head is coming off especially if it is strapped on. At least that is what the water patrol told me in the Ozarks. Might be BS but he said the water would try to pull the helmet off and the helmet will not give and pull or break your neck.
Again may be BS.
Rain x is a great idea.![]()

You're adding 3+lbs to an 8lb head... do the math.... = broken neck...

Most highspeed watersport racers wear helmets.....I may buy into the water catching the helmet and causing a problem but I am not buying the weight issue..
I have had hundreds of high speed motorcycle get offs and my neck is still in one piece....as far as I know..My helmet is an Arai and weighs around a pound....
I would be willing to bet that a helmet would be more apt to save your head then harm you....
I wear goggles or Wiley Xs with the foam inserts....
The comment on the shaving cream is spot on...We used to put shaving cream on our MX lens when fogging became an issue....Put the Shaving cream on and let it dry then wipe off....
