Like I said before . I enjoy doing shows and showing the differences between products . It is something that I enjoy doing . It also makes the winter months go by faster . Some people just enjoy doing stuff like this and not for anything in return . When I work shows I tell allot of people about the BBC for example . I'm not getting anything in return . I'm just telling people about something I think they would also enjoy .

Maybe it is because as Jay said, You just like dealing with the product and like helping people make an intelligent decision. I had a short term chance at a Basscat Factory sponsorship deal. Ivan Williams who is the national sales rep offered it to me himself as I had arranged to get their product into a local dealer. "Pick a boat and you can have it for factory pricing which is below dealer cost".
Why did I bother? I like dealing with boats and helping out around them. I wish I could own a dealership.Too bad I was in no position to afford to do it
at the time.Can't believe I had to pass up on the deal but figured Maybe next year.
Too bad the dealer was more into ocean boats and wouldn't listen when told how to promote bass boats so they didn't last and the deal was gone.
I would do it just for the fun of being around them and getting to talk about something I love to do.
Some pro staff HAVE to buy a boat every year.Some buy when they want.

I'm sorry that you and Steve had a bad experience with this dealer . I work many shows and have heard plenty ( good but mostly bad ) about other dealers . Dealers from around this area and around other parts of the country . When people are shopping this is when they like to tell you about their past experiences . Let's just say, it does no good going back and forth . The dealership is no longer in the bass boat market . Some people will be happy about this and some will be sad . There is no reason to get mad at me : The weather is finally getting good . Let's just get out and go fishing . :

Update:
I talked to the salesman and he said absolutely the boat has a 30 day warranty so.... Plus I called the previous owner. He explained everyting he had done to the boat and just recently decided to buy a new ranger.
I was going down today to buy the Champion! Then Friday have an on the water delivery.
Instead I asked if I could try it before I bought it.
They said to call the Pro staffer who does the deliveries.
He had an appointment at 3 and couldn't make it today.....
I then asked if we could go out after his appointment. He said Let me call the dealer.
Pro staffer (Brian) called me back and without hesitation offered to bring me today at 12:30.
I showed up and we took the boat out to be sure everything was in perfect working order.(Everything was PERFECT)
I will tell you what... I hope all boat dealers have a "Brian" on their staff!!
He showed me the proper way to use the trim,(which I never had used before) and gave me a BUNCH of boating advise (and fishing tips).Showed me how to use every item or switch on the boat, how the oil injection worked,how the battery charger works, etc! HE LEFT NOTHING OUT!
Loading only took me three tries to line it up and get it on the trailer.
Pointer and advise was the theme of the day.
Yes I bought the boat and will bring it home Friday(tomorrow)
The salesman (Jim) wrote out on the purchase agreement that the boat, motor and trailer has a 30 day warentee.
So far so PERFECT!
Will cross my fingers for ya bud
