Does Anyone Remember .....

Did any of the present day Okies here ever fish the old Sport Bass Association circuit? Either the couples, men or pro divisions? Back in the early to mid 80's, that was THE circuit to fish. Kenyon Hill was in HS, Ken Cook, OT Fears and Tommy Biffle used to fish this circuit.

I fished the warm up bass trail in the late seventies thru the early eighties and Tommy Biffle ruled it. I remember stories about the PoorBoy Bass trail.

I still have a couple Poor Boy trail decals on an old tackle box. I forgot the name of the guy that ran that circuit, but ran across him at Toledo Bend around 1998. He was living around Huxley Bay, kinda retired.

Biffle was and still is a pitching machine, I swear he could throw a curve ball jig/saltcraw to the backside of a willow tree without a ripple three times to my one pitch. He introduced me to the short shank flipping hook on a jig. I kinda miss fishing the tomato soup on Eufaula. The good old days, lol.

Doyle Rose ran the Poorboys, Mike and Pat Henry ran the Warm-up or World Bass Assoc; Don't remember which one, too long ago....

That's him. After the Poorboys, I believe he started the Budweiser League. Fished that for a couple years too. Sport Bass or SBA Pro was the circuit I fished the most.

Rich, acs, you guys must be old, oh, I remember them too. Thought I was the only one still alive to remember them.......jeez, don't feel that old!!!!

I didn't fish the Poorboys, but a lot of the guys here in Ada did. Bitter sweet memory, because in thinking back as to who they were, three or four of them have passed away. Perry Smallwood was a fishing mentor to me. He always fished the Poorboy tournaments.
