    Gearcase off a 200 johnson

    I just completely rebuilt this gear case. Should I have any metal at all after my first oil change??

    real fine dusty looking shavings is normal, bigger pieces or chunks aren't good.

    It could be residual flakes from the last destruction not all cleaned out. How much debris you got would depend on a red flag or not.
