    Launching on Lanier

It is getting to be striper time on Lanier, and I think it could be interesting with the water down. The problem is, one can't launch a bassboat from many of the ramps.

What ramps are presently open and functioning?

It looks like Shoal Creek and Tidwell are the only 2 ramps open right now....Shoal is expected to be closed by the weekend,Tidwell is not far behind

If you go,be ready to rumble,as there have been numerous fights, and other issues like vandalism going on....I hear there are rangers stationed at the ramps on both weekend days.

    Good luck

Come on over to Hartwell, we are down but still have water and you can launch and use your GA licence here. Only 1.5hrs from the ATL.

I put in at tidwell today and the striper spook bite was good today. Fished from youngdeer to flat creek our big fish today was over twenty pounds and we had a double on twice. Lots of fun!

I rode by Mary Alice Park on Sunday just to look since I was in Cumming anyway. That ramp is way out of the water.

I don't know how many of you have been following it, but there is local approval for a hotel and water park on property in that park. I can only imagine what that will do for traffic there and congestion at that ramp, which is already bad. All the illegals really like to go there and dip there toes.

Shoal Creek is open from what I hear. Old Roads that go into the lake are being used too.
