ON 6/22/2009 MY ETEC SYSTEM LIGHT, NO OIL CAME ON WITH HORN,,,HORN WENT OFF, NO LIMP MODE,,,CALLED BRP HOT LINE. TEC SUPPORT,,TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM,,,MOTOR PURCHEASE 1O/2006..THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS MOTOR HAS NO REGISTRATION IN MY NAME,BUT TO RUN MOTOR AND MARK OIL TANK,,,, ,,,THANKS TO BOAT IN A BOX, NO CODES WERE FLASHED,,GAUGE PROBLEM...I PURCHASED BRP PROGRAM FOR MY USE...THE PROMGRAM SHOWES CODE 72.... OIL SYSTEM TEST CHECKS OK....HAVE 5 YEARS WORKING FOR BRP DEALER....39 YEARS IN MY OWN TWO CYCLE BUSINESS....SHOULD I RUN IT OR PARK IT.....CAN NOT BUY JUST SENSOR,,,PUMP ASSM,,,600.00 PLUS..

First, see a dealer and get the latest software update for your motor, or post the version number here and we can check for you.

Have someone squeeze and keep pressure on the oil tank primer bulb as you loosen the oil pressure sensor and let oil leak out as sometimes an airpocket will form and give off false NO OIL alarms. Also remove the oil sensor connector and look for signs of oil. If so, the sensor is leaking internally.

When all done, run the winterizing program 2 times to really bleed the oil stystem of air. Be sure the oil filter by the pump is clean also.

Got the right map, may be a bad gauge with if no SAFE activation.

I installed a new system check gauge...The problem is this persistent fault code 72.when running engine,lights two and thee on emm turn off .Testing system check gauge lights ok.With engine not running sensor,red wire 5 volts,tan/white 3 volts..running red 5 volts,,tan shows pulse 3.5 to 4.8....I removed sensor from pump,pumped primer bulb got a little air bubbles. primed oil system with software, no air bubbled in oil distribution lines..Using XD100 oil on tcw3 setting...When priming oil pump appears to have good pulse..
