    Re: Clermont Chain? (skydever)

Steve the last report I got is that the water level for the Clermont chain is still low. If it is still down, there will be lakes you can't get to. It has been that way for a long time. I wish it would come back up because it is a good place to fish with a good ramp and parking.
If you go let us know how you did and the condition of the lakes please.

I went by that chain about a month ago and it looked like to me that the water was maybe up a little. I have caught some nice fish there in the past and would like to fish it again sometime. Please let us know how you do and if there is enough water to run a bassboat.

I work in Clermont the water has come up but it is still very low you can not get through to the other lakes with out risking damage to your boat if you are out that way just Go to Johns Lake.

With all this rain the lakes are still that low? Someone is pumping or letting it out of the chain.

They had a big meeting last month with the county because the people who live on Lake Louisa were saying that the county was pumping it out of course the county was denying it and the county said you people should not be worried about the lake being low you should worry about it being to high well that put all the people in a up roar lol but after the meeting is when the lake started to come up a bit so it was obvious they were pumping it out i will drive by there tomorrow and check it out and let you guys know how it looks

Well Rooster and I hit the Clermont chain Fri morning. First stop, 2nd cast caught a nice little keeper (1 1/2-2 lbs) on a frog. Fished awhile longer nothing. Moved into another lake had 5-6 bites on a fluke, one was a decent fish come off right a boat. Most of the bites around cypress trees and grass. Went to another lake Rooster caught a cpl on a trap. Not sure what the "normal" water level is but we had no problems running. Actually for the most part we were in 4 ft or better. There were several bass boats on the chain. I will defently be back there.
