Just a suggestion , Leave the boat home and hire Preston Clark to take you out fishing he's Guide, Pro angler and a member here and Lives in that neck of the woods, you will catch fish with him or his dad if Preston is busy, beats dragging the boat down and back and worrying about it breaking down, Preston is a great guy

Fish Rodman Dam its 20 miles south of Palatka its one of the best lakes in Florida. Make sure you do your homework case there is a lot of stumps. go to http://www.rodmanreservoir.com for more info and do a google maps on Rodman so you get a idea on what your up for. If you do fish there i will be glad to give you some help. Only by IM message on here or by phone.

There is a lot of good water, within driving distance of there. I would bring my boat, but then again, I would try to limit my time with the mother in law,

Rodman would be a pretty good bet. The river would probably be decent too, but I've never fished it so I really can't comment to how to fish it.

Check out George's Lake too. It's a smaller lake, and has plenty of dumb fish. It's a really good numbers lake for that area.
