Results of NoAl tournament on Cedar Creek

Cedar Creek proved to be a tough nut to crack for most of us. The weather was hot and the fishing tough but I think we all had a good time in spite of all that. Besides, it's sure nice to fish a lake once in a while that doesn't have a ton of boating pressure.

Chris Fortney and Danny Howell brought the only five fish limit to the scales and took first place honors. The team of David Scogin and John Scogin took second place and big fish honors. Congratulations to the winners and a huge "thank you" to everyone that attended! And a special thanks to Steve Spurgeon for the pics!

You guys are quite welcome. I wanted to express my gratidude to all of you for your support and it seemed like an appropriate way to do just that.

And having the ramp pretty much to ourselves sure made it a lot easier. I couldn't imagine trying to do something like that at any of the other lakes we fish. It's a real challenge just getting everyone launched at some places.

Oh, and I promise I'll give everyone a heads up next time so you can bring a lawn chair along and won't have to sit in the grass!

great time for sure.It was great seenig everyone, I really enjoy these, I have fish much bigger tourneys, much higher payouts and whatnot, but these are by for the funnest:)
Having dogs there to eat made it much easier for Chris and myself to be on pickwick within a hour of leaving there, didnt have to stop and eat :)

Thanks Avery for everything you do for this group

To me, getting to fish about 20 hours in 1 weekend on great waters is paradise :) some folks might get tired ,hot, frustrated, but for me, it's awesome!...But I've been doing it my whole life.
Chris asked me sun morning after we hadn't had a bite in about 2 hours or so and it was hot how do I not get frustrated, I told him it's not hard, I'm fishing, that's what I love to do,the catching part is bonus, if it was easy, it might not be so neat. But anyhow, I really enjoyed the T,the fellowship, eats and sat evening on Pickwick even though Chris caught the smallie toad(I'll get one next time) Plus the Sunday morning challenge, that's becoming pretty fun:)
thanks, Avery, Chris, and the whole Faile family for making me feel very welcome and comfortable.

You're very welcome, Danny. Fishing is something that I love to do, too, and catching a few fish is just a nice bonus.

Thanks again Avery for keeping everything together.I and Ty had a great time ,if he had someone to help him out with the fish catching he could do a lot better.Something is really wrong, this is the second T I haven't put a keeper in the boat
Sure will be hot in August for a cloudy day.

    Avery,

I can hardly wait until we get moved to 'Bama to join you fellows for these little No-AL Ts. Low pressure fishing is definitely my style!

Steve, I know the feeling, 2nd in a row without a keeper fish for me too. But I like to fish.

When will you be moving down here? We'd love to have you join us anytime. And they are low pressure T's, without a doubt - just the way we like 'em!

Tentative moving date is July of '09. The date may change, but that's the current plan. I don't know if I can wait another year or not Avery. I'd love to be down there when they have the three Elite T's next year but time will tell. We're hoping to get down there for a few days some time next month, but I'm having surgery so will have to plan the trip around that.

Thanks Gitthenet!! We bought a place on Sand Mountain just east of Scottsboro. It's 6 miles from my front door to the closest ramp on Guntersville. We love the area already and can hardly wait to move down! You'll find pics of our Sweet Home Alabama and a couple nice G'ville rat fish at the bottom of this page - http://heartlandtackleservice.com/. The ugly, old, fat guy in the pictures sleeps with my wife.

I found out today that the doctor scheduled my surgery for Sept 4th. So, Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be there August 22-25 for a long weekend. The only thing I HAVE to do while we're down is get an estimate on building a nice big garage for my toys, but I hope to schedule that for Friday afternoon! A little fishing Saturday or Sunday sounds great to me. I even have some tackle at the house.

Your rig is old, huh? Well, so am I!!!

Jim, If you spend a little time on Guntersville those fish will be too small to be on your website! Good luck in retirement!
