1999 225 Ficht DI problems

The motor has been running fine when cold. If you run about 2 miles (enough to come up to temp) at WOT then let off to shut down...I keep in the gas a little to keep water from getting on back deck... As soon as I let off the gas completely the motor dies. Completely like you hit a light switch no chug spit sputter just off. It will crank right back up at the turn of the key and as soon as you put it in forward it dies. If you crank it again and get it in gear quick give it some gas then let off and put it in neutral it dies. It will skip when warm even at WOT but then its like it gets its things together and it will run fine for a bit.. This is an intermediate problem but it happens every time I go out.

Ive already checked compression (110 +/-5 across all warm.), blue spark jumping 1/2in gap all day long. Timing at idle and on trailer in water. NEW water/gas seperator. New fuel bulb, New plugs and indexed them, decarbed it, Just put a new water impeller kit on it. Also checked more but cannot list all at this time.

This problem was only happening when the motor was hot. It ran perfect when in driveway and for the first good ride. Now it is skipping all the time.

It could be as simple as incorrect timing or a component problem.

It's tough to guess at the problem, you need a trained tech with the proper diagnostic software and tools to check it out. Ask the tech if the motor has the updated TPS actuator installed. That kit came out about 9 ro 10 years ago.

Ask your tech to richen the injectors when testing.
