Hello...I have a 96' 150 rude, E150ELEDB , and iit will run fine on the muffs, once in the lake it dies , restart, fire , then die , and it seems to fire at high rpms then die , when you try and restart it does the same thing, i have checked comp, 4 holes @90 , and 2 @92 , it started doing this off and on , i changed the batt. to a larger one , and it has ran good the past 2 outings fishing, but low and behold, the SOB, did it today @wot across lake. it starts for an instant the dies, any help
Same thing happened to my 96 Johnson 150 and it wound up be the optical sensor.

That one is a kind of ouch payment at the counter as most techs chamge the Power pack and the EET as perscribed via the manual.
I's it hard to change ? i had the powerpack and stator changed about 40 hrs ago...

It will run wide open and then die?
Then it will not restart?
Once it cools off will it restart and run again?

No it starts on the muffs and runs fine then ,when at the lake it starts like you have it wide open for a split second then dies and thats all it will do is start and die.....Thanks Steve

That is strange, you may want to get this one to your dealer.
