I'm thinking on buying that boat never had a bass boat? I want to make sure that i set it up right too if i do buy it. The seller told me that it does chime walk a little at speed but that u have to drive the boat. is that all u can do is correct the trim and steering. Or is there a prop, jack plate? setting hmmm help?

Proper setup (weight distribution, motor height, etc.) will help lessen chinewalk but probably won't eliminate it. Any performance hull that gets right up on the pad is going to chinewalk to some degree and takes some seat time to eliminate it when you drive. The Tritons tend to like the motor high and a 4 blade prop will generally be a little easier to drive than a 3 blade.

Not sure if you care or not, but it's 25 hp overpowered. Could become an insurance issue if something happens.

The 98, 99,00's tr 19's were only rated for a 175. So insurance might be a problem

Big problem if you want to fish organized tournaments. Most organizations require the boat to not have more than the rated horsepower.

thanks well, Thanks to all that replied to this post. Looks like i will not buy that boat. I'm a little hart broken cause i did like it. Maybe that's why it was cheap to begin with. The seller can't get any one to buy it cause its uninsurable or a very high risk. I'm learning a lot about bass boat buying

Have you thought of trying a switch for a 175? You should even get some money on the deal.

well no, but i gave up on that deal. Im glad i didn't buy it. I'm currently looking at a 98 21 triton with a 225 mercury efi I am a little concerned that it might be to big. I'm not sure it will fit . Does any one know how long they are? hmm are they rated for a 225?
