05 225 Etec Clicking in neutral

just bought my boat used and ran it twice. after my friend serviced it for me, i took it out and heard a clicking when in neutral. don't remembering hearning it the other two times. in fact, i thought it was surprised how quite it was my first time out. any thoughts? he just changed the plugs, and water pump, and lower unit oil>

Check the torque on the prop nut. 80 ft. lbs.

Clicking is also heard if the shift cable or shift linkage is out of adjustment and the clutch dog is knicking a gear slightly, instead of being in the middle of its travel, not touching anything.

I dont know if this will apply, but i have an '04 HO and mine started doing the same thing and it was the weld on the end of the shift lever where it connects to the plate that holds the shift interupter ( spelling ) switch. It was broke and the plate was moving more than the rod was so it wouldnt engage/disengage correctly.
