stratos triler problem

I have a 06 200 pro that was bought new in jan 08 and this happened on the way home last friday at 5am. warranty ran out this past jan. any suggestions?

warranty or not , I'd be looking for them to make it right.

Any other damage when it broke? If not, a good welding shop can make it like new.

There was a recall affecting 2002-2006 Stratos trailers. I have scanned copies of the recall letter that contains pictures of what to look for. I can email them to you if you send me a PM.

2003 - 2006 CHAMPION BOAT TRAILER

Recall Number: 06V206000

Summary: CERTAIN BOAT TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A RETRACTABLE TONGUE WERE MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY. THE STEEL FRAME INSERT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN INSERTED INTO THE BRAKE ACTUATOR HOUSING AT THE CORRECT DISTANCE BEFORE THE PARTS WERE WELDED TOGETHER.

Consequence: IF THE RETRACTABLE TONGUE WAS NOT MANUFACTURED CORRECTLY, THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP INSERT COULD CRACK IN THE AREA OF THE GAP. IF THE INSERT CRACKS WITH THE TRAILER IN SERVICE, THE TONGUE COULD BUCKLE CONTACTING THE ROAD SURFACE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPAIR THE TRAILERS AS NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 22, 2006. OWNERS MAY CALL 615-494-2084 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

wow thats not good. I have a 2003 20XL on a trailer just like yours, just bought the boat in july. I might have to take mine to get it checked out or could I look and tell if its not right myself?

Guys I have nothing but praise for Stratos Boats and Greene Boat & Motor. I have a 2 day tournament this weekend and had no clue what I was going to do, I contacted Andy Greene at Greene Boat & Motor and talked with him, He told me to get it to him so I had the boat towed up there this morning and at lunch received a picture of my boat jacked way up in the air being reinforced and welded back together just to get me through until my new tongue gets here from Stratos which will be built and shipped to me at no charge, So I had a boat that was unusable at 9am this morning at at 5pm it is being put back together for me to pick it up tomorrow morning. I cant say enough about Greene's and Stratos, Thank you Andy Greene and Scott Riggs for all of your help just to get another weekend angler back on the water in time for my tournament.

That's great. I've never had a problem with any of the Stratos boats I've owned but over the years they have always made things right regardless of what company owned them. I remember a fellow with a 90's model 201 pro getting a whole new top cap.
