My 97 400 still has wood. Just had the transom replaced about two months ago. I'm pretty sure Stratos went all composite in 98 but I thought the Javs didnt change until the Renegades. I guess 98 would be the magic year for all of them.</td></tr></table>
I know that you could order a 97 400 as composite but it may have been special order that year and not standard. Too it may have been they moved to composite sometime during the production year that year. It was only available on the 400 series for 97. In 98 the 409's, 400's and 389's were standard as composite but I do not remember about the 379's.
I have the 96 and 98 catalogs here in my office. I think I may still have a 97 catalog somewhere at the house. I will double check it and see if shows anything about the composite being offered.
If I remember right, Stratos was a year ahead of Javelin in going composite on their models. They always put the good stuff into Stratos production ahead of the Javelins back then.
