    Recessed trolling motor tray

Hey guys , thinking about installing a recessed tray in a 04 201 pro xl . Is there

any cross supports or anything in the way under there in this year model ? I can

only see a little ways back in under there .

You are good to go...Cut the hole and screw it down...Just make sure you try to stay in front of the storage box so you don't cut into it and have to worry about leaks...I put a Comfortrol in mine and it is about the biggest one there is and it fit in front of the box, but just barely..

I ended up cutting into my storage box by accident. But everything is working just fine. If I had move it forward by an inch I would have missed it.

Re: Recessed trolling motor tray (Tom in Stl)

Like they said you won't have any problems, placing tray as far forward as possible is best anyway. One of the best upgrades you can do. You will notice a big difference on the water.

Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

I wasn't sure what to think of mine at first, but a full day on the water and I finally understood. I love mine. I bought the Pro Control from Mark Miller.

Re: Recessed trolling motor tray (ljarrell4LSU)

ljarrell4lsu .... how do yo like that tray? does it take up much of the rod locker space? can you still get the rods in UNDER the tray? i have a 1995 javelin 379 and have been trying to decide which tray to get. i have the same issue as you, ie the tray will take up space in my rod locker.

    thanks.

    -perry-

anybody else with javelins have any suggestions? thanks.

Re: Recessed trolling motor tray (froteur)

Sorry to butt in but, keep in mind trays are around 4" deep and your deck will be around 2" thick so you will only be coming into top of rod area a couple/few inches and this may not be a big deal and may clear your top rods.
