    upgrading trolling motor

I have a 2004 285 pro xl, its got a 65 lbs thrust trolling motor now, i was wondering if anyone had tried to put a 36 volt 101 lb thrust motor on a similar boat, was there room for the extra battery in the back? any ideas, please let me know

Man, you guys must have strong winds or strong currents in MI! I probably have the same TM (Minn Kota 65 Maxxum) and have only once needed all of that power. It was at Santee-Cooper a few years ago, down below the dam (just below it), and they started releasing water.

I don't know about in the 285 but I am very glad that I have a 36v in my 201. The current here on the Savannah River is very strong. I would struggle with a 24v tm..

send me all the specs and I'll do a bit of research. I want a 65, so it sounds like it would work good.
