    boat weight

I was wondering if anyone has scaled a mid 90s 285 Pro XL, single axle trailer, 150 Johnson, batteries, fuel, etc. I am guessing around 2500# trailered weight. I just happened to look at my truck registration & it has 4000# GVWR on it. I need to get higher than that for when I tow the boat to avoid getting into trouble w/ the law.

2500-2750 would be a good guess.

I thought GVWR was what the truck could weigh loaded (truck + payload, tongue weight would be included, the boat's not riding on the truck) and GCWR (combined weight) was truck and trailer. 4000 seems awfully low for a F150, my 87 was 6250. Check the tag on the pillar when you open the driver's side door.
