No prob. If you glide up on the trailer, it will settle on the bunks. I have dual axle trailer. Generally, if I keep the the top edge of the fender out of the water, its set about right. You'll have to learn the best way for your use but you'll be fine w/o the trailer guides. I've never had a problem, except in very, very strong cross wind which would be a problem for trailering for just about anyone.
