    vro pump 1995 70 hp

I am woundering if I should unhook my vro pump. I just got my power head done last week, the mechanic recommended removing the vro if I did not mind mixing the oil and gas what do you guys think? the reason for the rebuild was the bottom two cylanders were bad and the motor kept shutting down. thanks

What did they tell you the failure was from and what did they do to correct it?

Did the shop replace it when it was rebilt? Every shop that I talked to when I was looking to rework one included a new vro pump. If they didnt pull it and chunke it. If they did I would run it for a bit .

I am picking the boat up on tue I will talk with them then about what caused it to happen. all they said was to disconect the vro hose plug it and discent the wiring to it they did not go into detail.

I think there is no reason to most that suggest disconecting the pump do so out of ignorance. Read the link Seahorse provided on the article written by Bill Grannis.
Also, correct me if I am wrong Seahorse, BY 1995 the vro II pumps had been replaced by the OMS pumps.

If I remember correctly, the VRO II pumps had the brown fuel outlet fitting and the later OMS pumps had the gray outlet fitting.
