    Re: E-Tec 25/30hp (Chunder)

I saw one on a video! Putting right along with the mirage style gearcase.I tried to get one for a demo, but alas, it was not to be. I know some day the will make a mirage style powerhead. There will be an engineer twidling his/her thumbs and he/she will go "Wow, this could work!" Suddenly, out of nowhere, we will have a 60 degree engine cut in half just tearing up the market. But from what I understand, the little 2 cylinder will hold it's own right now. I can't wait to get one so I can "tinker" with it. Being a tin boat dealer, they should sell like nude pictures of Jenifer Love Hewitt!!!!!!

    Re: E-Tec 25/30hp (Chunder)

Hi Chunder, they are not readily available as of yet, we were always told late 2008 or early 2009 and we should be getting them in about 2 weeks and I have a few on B/O. I ran some pre production models about 2 months ago and LN posted them on his site and trust me they were nice little engines with very cool features. I ran a 30HP on an alloy 4.3M boat and it performed well with 4 adults in the boat, we sell a similar sized alloy boat here and at present can only offer a 30HP 4-Stroke Johno or Merc and these two engines struggle with anything over 3 adults on this size of boat, so the E-TEC, both forward steer and tiller, are going to be very popular and "best in class" for performance and the fuel numbers I have seen on BRP performance reports it will be unbeatable (how does 26.4MPG at idle sound to 10.4MPG at WOT on a 16 foot Starcraft boat sound-pretty good to me).

    Cheers,

    Huey.

    Re: E-Tec 25/30hp (Chunder)

Went to the annual boat show in my area yesterday and saw 2 30hp motors there. One was on a jon boat and one was on a display stand, appeared to the remote models as they had no tiller arm. Sharp looking motor!!! My local dealer had one of them there.

I guess BRP is starting to ship them now?

My local dealer, Lockeman's Hardware and Boat in Detroit, has a new 30-HP E-TEC in stock, but my understanding is that the supply is limited. Not all dealers have them available.
