I usually run about 35lbs in my tires, that gives me the best gas mileage...![]()
It depends on what engine you have. I wouldn't run my Yamaha below 14 PSI when the engine is running "wide open". With that being said, most Yammies will be around 18-20 PSI when they're flying down the lake.
Hey Spencer...welcome to the boards...keep the pressure 18 or above and you should have no problem!!!![]()
Just can't leave well enough alone!!

thanks for the replies, by the way its a 1997 175 johnson fast strike
My 96 150 faststrike has 15 psi at WOT and gets lower after that. I get 3-5 psi at idle. I don't think this is good, but thats the way it is even with a new impeller on the pump.

my 150 John has 7-8 at idle and 25-27 at wot. I don't have a jackplate. I wouldn't want that Johnson to run less than 15 at wot.

3.5 inches below the pad. The water outlet is below water level when the boat is loaded down at idle speed so I plan on raising it up 1/4 each trip to see if it improves the output. I also have a 5.5 setback with my jackplate.
I was sitting in a dead spot.
I moved the motor down 1/4" and the pressure went up to 25psi. Then I raised it up 1/2" (1/4" above the original) and the pressure was 24lbs. Another 1/4" up gave me 23 psi. Another 1/4" up gave me 22 psi and bad chine walk. I will drop down 1/8" next time out.
A set up 'Tos with a F/S Truder should be close to 25 psi with a good H20 gauge. If not order pump kit 5001594 from you BRP dealer,
