    Installed a comfortrol recess pedal...

I added a Comfortrol trolling motor recess to my 201 last night. Very simple installation and looks very good. Took a little over 2 hours from start to finish. I will post pic's tonight. on another hull, this may have been an issue, because of the front storage box, but with the 201, it had enough room in front of the box, that i did not have to get into cutting the front edge of the box at all. Just a hint if anyone else is going to do this. Make sure that you put a sheet or dropcloth over all the areas around the hole. That fiberglass dust is nasty...

Re: Installed a comfortrol recess pedal... (201pro)

Here are the pic's...The pedal is set a little higher than normal, because I installed 1/2 poly inserts in the bottom under the front and back., so it was not quite flat, but just slightly raised... It just feels more comfortable for me, and it does not put the cable in as much of a bind ...

Russ I put the one in Stratos used, and I really like the one you used. Never thought I would put one in but never will have a boat with out one now. Youll love it. Also I just put mine a little farther back and hit the front lip of the front compartment. Like you said job was pretty simple.

Can i have the dimensions of the hole that you cut? I want to measure my 1996
Javelin 379te. I have a front tackle storage and i'm not for sure if i can use one of these. Also the overall length of the product.

Re: Installed a comfortrol recess pedal... (Stratos201basser)

    Jason,
If you get one, I will put it in. I was going to put in it last year, but decided to wait, since I was selling it.

Terry, The hole has a rounded back cut to it, but it at the longest area, it will be about 17 1/2" long and 9 1/2" wide...

Can I get in line for an install? Looks like it would be a good side business.

Measure how far the front box goes up under the deck in front of the lid hinge. Then measure from the bow panel to the hinge... You will need approx 19" or so from the bow panel to the back of the rounded part of the insert. There are some other flat back inserts that may be shorter.

I installed my own, so only cost was a tube of silicone and 4 beers... I will help install them for my buddy's, but I am not wanting to do too many... All you need is a jig saw, a drill and drill bits, as a big set of cahonee's to make yourself cut that hole...Actually the hole was ok, it was drilling the first hole to start that was hard.
