2001 zx225 bilge pump and seat base??

Hello Guys, After years of driving in Skeeters, I finally bought a very clean 2001 ZX225. Ive loved every one of the 20+ footers ive been in and cant wait to get out on the water. Im getting it ready for a wrap and making sure everything is in good working order before its maiden voyage. 2 concerns, the rear seat base has very little movement. Ive read past posts about tightening screws-adding a washer etc. It seems like the bushing is loose, not the actual base. From inside,(between livewells) there is no screws or bolts I can see. I can grab the pin sticking down and it will move slightly and can be twisted 1/16 back and forth?? Ideas?? second is the bilge pump. I have an 800gph pump1 comes on with switch turned, second is a 1500pump2 that comes on with switch but if I lift the float neither comes on?? does the float switch bypass the rotory switch on the console if the bilge has water?? Thanks Lee

When I was working on my buddies ZX225, lifting the float turns on the 1500GPH pump, no matter the switch position.

Carlos is correct about the BP float. The rear seat base does have screws on top under the carpet and locking nuts on the bottom. The nuts are recessed and are a pain to get to but can be tighten. I think you will need a deep well 8mm socket to tighten the nuts.

Thanks Guys, will check the wiring and float switch to see where the issue is, maybe a fuse? I will look for the nuts underneath.

The fuse for the auto pump is in the main wiring harness under your starboard side in a spade fuse holder. Also, look and see if the auto light comes on.

Any questions, shoot me an email or IM

Re: 2001 zx225 bilge pump and seat base?? (Carlos H)

Found the small nuts for the seat base but the screws are turning under the carpet. What did you guys do?? On the auto bilge, found a fuse missing-replaced it but no go. Will check float for power when it warms back up, 18 this morning . My switch has 3 settings, I think port-starbord-both. Where would the auto light be?? Thanks for all the help.

You'll have to slit the carpet enough to get a screwdriver in the screw heads to hold the roll.

Use a little carpet glue to put the carpet back.
