    Broken Bolt on Jack Plate

Help - anyone know who made the set back / jack plate for my 97 ZX185? Broke 1 of 4 bolts this weekend and need to find a replacement for all of them.

Just take one out and go match it at Lowes or something. You can get Grade8 bolts which will never snap but they aren't stainless.

You have a good idea to replace all them
I would go with Stainless Steel bolts, washers & nuts.
Most any hardware or home center should have the SS bolts you need.
Torque? I'd say somewhere around 65-70#

You can also get new stainless bolts from stores like "Fastenal".

Just find a local store ..... take your bolt in with you and tell them how many you need.

Remember if you put a Stainless nut on a Stainless bolt ... it can gall on you. Put a drop on anti-seize on it when tightening back up.

I just had to do all this on a project boat I'm working on and I needed 4x new transom bolts as well as 4x motor bolts ....... all this to mount a jackplate.

    Good Luck.
