swapping to a mercury??????????

Has anyone ever seen a newer skeeter with a mercury?????

I wonder what would be involved in hanging a pro xs on the back of my zx225 07'?

I love skeeters and have owned five or six over the last several years, but a pro xs mercury is without a doubt, the best outboard that I've ever ran. I had a bass cat for six months. hated the boat, but fell in love with the pro xs motor.

To each their own, but changing to a Merc is just a matter of changing out the components. As a matter of fact, once Yamaha went to all 4 stroke motors this year, i have heard that some of the dealers up north have been putting Mercs on the Skeeters because those guys up there just want 2 stroke motors. You will have to change out the throttle/gear shift mechanism and may even have to change out some or all of the gauges since they are for yamaha motors.

THere's a dealer in Wisconsin that does that is close to the Mercury Plant that is the reason they hang them on there. But you loose the Real Money Qualification.

I would take a spin in the New Yamaha SHO...You might want to repower with this motor. So glad I made the switch! I'll never own another 2 Stroke Outboard again. This motor blows the doors off anything I've ever seen a 2 Stoke do. Faster, Quieter, Quicker Hole Shot, and No more expensive 2 Stoke Oil to Purchase Plus more Fuel Efficient.

Give airport marine a call, they are a skeeter dealer and offer mercs on new skeeters

"Joe Skeeter" is the IN/KY Boards Moderator and he has a fine azz ZX250 with a 250XS on it...Said he's seen 81.3 with it! That's faster than any bug w/ a 250 yammy I can think of! just sayin...

I still have the yamaha gear/shifter on mine, but running Smartcraft gauges
