Been using the QC12PEP plugs for this motor but I'm only getting about 80 hours out of each set. Just heard there is an alternative to these plugs for this DI motor but wanted to get it first hand. Anyone know anything about it??
Thanks,
Jason

The Champion QC10WEP has been approved for the big block engines. This is an iridium plug that will last longer. The first thing is to make sure the head temps are coming up like they should. Too cool temps will shorten plug life. You can have the grommet in the bypass valve glued in place,ETEC thermostats, and the new plugs and get better life.

What Bassmeister is trying to say is that it takes a long time to teach him something, and as soon as he learns it, he forgets it right away.

Hey Michael, I am running a 2000 225 Ficht, fish 3-4 times a week and frequently put the boat in, let it idle while I'm parking the truck, idle or make a 400 yard run across the lake then drop the TM and fish for 8 hrs, then a 30 second run back to the ramp. Sound like a scenario for cold head temps and maybe I should switch plugs? Unless I head south, 2 minutes on plane is a long run for me although sometimes I make a couple laps around the lake just to shake the rust out.
