I have a 99 zx185 and it looks like the easiest way for mine is to remove the fuel tank...i am planning on doing that this winter as well and replacing all my pumps, and putting in a shoot through transducer.

Just bought one myself, and I believe there is a door, at least on my boat right behind the livewells in the bilge compartment just infront of the batteries., If not got to pull the fuel tank, batteries, and pull up the floor to get to them. Crazy huh! I have one that wont fill the port live well. got to get it fixed before april.

    Re: getting to recirc.pumps (NASCAR24)

I replaced th aerator pumps in a '95 Skeeter ZX150 in December 2009 and decided that the recirculating pumps where too hard to get to and where covered with strayed polyurethane foam. The recirculating pumps where located on the outside of the live wells and oddly enough at the top. My guess is you have to unscrew them from inside the live well and pull them out by the hose from the battery/fuel tank campartment while standing on your head sniffing gas fumes. I elected to stay with just replacing the Aer. pumps. You should be able to get a picture of your pumps by sticking a camera up the gunwall from inside the battert/fuel tank compartment.

I do not know why that put them on the outside edge of the lives wells, there was plenty of room behind the access panel or in the battery compartment. Who Knows.

    Good Luck
