    Need help! winterizing/fogging SX180

Ok my previous boat was a G3 with a little 40 hp 2 stroke, when I winterized it I just had to take 4 bolts out to take the black plastic cover over the intake off, so I could spray fogging oil into the carberateur while the engine was running to winterize the engine. My new boat has a 115 hp, and I'm not sure how to take the intake cover off, it looks to be alot more complicated/difficult. Has anyone else run into this? Is it fine to just take out each spark plug and spray fogging oil in each/replace all the plugs and turn the engine over with the kill swich pulled? Or would it be better to just run the engine every 3 to 4 weeks during the winter to keep all the parts lubed/coated? Looking for any suggestions.

Once hunting season starts I do not take the boat out for 5 or 6 months. I thought you were supposed to fog the engine anytime you boat will not be cranked for an extended period of time. If the climate is mild like there in TX is fogging not needed?

I have a 150 four stroke. The cover comes off easily to access the plugs. If you have a four stroke, pull the plugs and spray fogging oil in the cylinders. Crank it over for a couple of seconds with the plugs out, then put them back in and you are all set. I say leave the plugs out because my motor built up pressure and I heard a pop when I cranked it over. My buddy to told me to leave the plugs out so the compression doesn't build up, which is what happened when I did that.

Waco I also live in Temple. All I do is put some marine sta bil in the tanks tilt the engine down all the way and remove the prop.
