    skeeter livewell ?

used livewell for the first time since buying boat(zx180).boat has two livewells side buy side. it seems there is a T in between the livewells that i guess is the overflow drain.problem is when i have the arerator on auto the livewell will fill up all the way to the top and run over. when i move to anthor spot some water does drain out.any ideas on the problem here.

I am not sure on your boat but sounds like your over flow is clogged. Get out your garden hose and fill it up and see if the over flow is working. You may want to stick the garden hose in the over flow first and see if you wash anything out.

Sounds like it's on autofill, not auto areate.

you have four pumps 2 for fill and 2 for recirculate you are turning on the wrong ones for recirculating. You livewells are two seperate operating units port and starboard each have their own pumps.

i understand there is four pumps.there is overflow holes for each livewell that come out the back of the boat at the bottom.checked and they are not stopped up.i f i want to add fresh water with arerator with the auto timer the livewell will run over after awhile.when i move to anthor spot some water will run out because the drain holes are out of the water when on plane.never had a boat with the recirc. in the livewell. will this keep the fish alive all day without adding fresh water.

Yes it will. I put water in my livewells in the morning add a little "stay alive" and a icejug in the summer. When I put a keeper in I turn on the auto recirculate and go all day with what I have in there. May need to add a little after a run but for the most part I do not leave the fill on. Especially if I have treated the water.

I don't think there are overflows on your livewells.

the boat is a 96 zx180 and has two seperate livewells .between the livewells about two inches from the top there is overflow hole for each well.it seems they have a T that serves as a overflow for the two wells. .i have run water in each hole and it comes out the back of the boat.

I had the same issue with one of my livewells also. Check the tube that comes from the overflow in the livewell to the back of the boat. For some reason mine had slipped off the fitting connecting it to the livewell just a bit (not totally off) and it put a small bow in it. With the bow in the tube, the overflow still works, but won't remove the water as fast as the fill pump will pump it in. Air was getting trapped in the top of the bow in the tube, and was not letting the water pass through it as fast as possible, causing it to overflow the livewell. I reattahced the tube to the livewell, taking up the extra half inch it had slid on the fitting, and it works like a champ again.

Also, I run my fill pump pretty much 24/7 once I get fish in the well, expically big ones. All of the waste they are putting in the water will stress them out even more if you leave them in it without pumping in fresh water, IMO.

Stick a garden hose in the hole in the transom that is used to fill the livewell and turn the pump on. If water isn't getting to the pump, it's probably a clog. If it works, then I would bet there is something wrong with the hose running from the pump to the transom, and the pump is not powerful enough to pull the water through it. My guess would be there is either a blockage in the hose or possible a bend, trapping air in it and not allowing water to flow through.
