    ZX vs iClass

I'm looking at a ZX 200. I've been hearing that the ZX boats tend to crack. Everything is screwed but not screwed and glued like the iClass. Also the iClass has some process that allows more flex than the ZX. Is there a year that the ZX may have been improved or is it not really a concern. I'm looking at 06-08's
Any truth to the above? What do you all think?

    Thanks

    Re: ZX vs iClass (MtnDoo)

I haven't had any issues with my 2003 ZX225, I'd avoid the 2006 I class models due to DMS lock and Chine tab issues. Only thing I don't like about the newer ZX model years is the fisher position on the console. If I were you, I'd look at the 2007/2008 Iclass models..

I've got a deal on a 09 ZX200 that we have run a few time. Give me a call with any questions. It has warranty through March 2015.

No complaints out of my ZX.

I have never fished out of an i-Class but I dont see how they could be much better than a ZX. My boat does everything really well.

    Re: ZX vs iClass (MtnDoo)

Either boat is a great boat my last one was a ZX210C and i'm currently running a 20I. Storage is great in both boats and handling is about the same. The diffenence comes in ride and features. THe I class does definatly ride a little better even being 10" shorter. Depending on what u get more speed My 20I will outrun my buddys Zx225 becuase with the Iclass u can run a 250 as opposed to a 225. Unless You go to a Zx250 Then the speed are about the same. I love the digital locks on the the I-class even though people say they have problems I've had mine for about a year i haven't had any. Either boat will serve u well.

God grant that i may fish until my dying day and when it comes to my last cast i then most humbly pray that when in the lord safe landing net i\'m peacefully asleep that i be judged as one good enough to keep.

I've had both. 2003 ZX225 and now a 2006 20I. I would definately go with the I class. Year doesn't matter. Skeeter has fixed the majority of the 2006 boats.

    Re: ZX vs iClass (MtnDoo)

I had an 06' I-Class for almost 3 years. In fact, I just sold it earlier this month. Do yourself a favor and if you get the I-Class boat, I would make sure it is an 07' or newer to make sure you don't get a boat that has some issues. The one I had had major problems, but having said that, Skeeter took care of them. After the boat came back it was a pleasure to drive.

As far as the hull goes, different hull than the zx225, but not a different process. Neither should flex more than the other and both are good hulls.

My 20I had plenty of screws, but I did not notice much glue. I had plenty of screws back out around the console and front of the boat where the graph was. I just put them back. This happens on most boats though.

    Re: ZX vs iClass (itsakeeper14)

My ZX frequents lake michigan so I know quite a bit about backing screws out...lol For awhile there it seemed like every trip my unit up front wanted to fly out along with everything else attached to that plate. I've had to re tighten the rod locker the storage compartments...well almost every screw in the front of the boat

If I am not mistaken you should sit up alittle higher in the seat of an i class over the zx models, which over time on the water makes it easier to get up and down from the sitting position.

    Re: ZX vs iClass (shawn18182000)

I have owned 2 ZX boats, the last one being a ZX 210c, and I thought it couldn't get any better than that. But my 2009 21i is the bomb. Way better than my older ZX. No complaints with the ZX, but the new iClass is drier, smoother, tighter, better ride, etc...

If you have the money, get the iClass.
