Skeeter zx185c with Yammy 150 TRP

I have had this boat for about 5 years now and it is my first boat. It is a 98'. When I first bought this boat it was running high 60's/ low 70. I have since banged my props up and had them redone a few times and ever since I have continuously lost speed. I had my prop guy do the proper cupping on the rear prop and got back up to 64. When I got home I looked in the back of my car and noticed that I forgot to install the 3/4 inch spacer that goes between the two props. I am hoping that this caused my lack of speed.

My question is does anyone else have this rig with the Yammy TRp and if so what kind of speeds are you running?

Is that gps speed or speedo? If it is gps, that's pretty good.
I have never owned a trp. Hopefully someone can give you some advise.

what size boat and engine?

An Allison XB2002 (20'2") my motor started out as a 200 VMAX (carb) and now has a Phase II Hydro-Tec on it.

Hopefully your spacer will help your speed. I have not messed with my props at all so I am sorry I am of no help to you.

Have you thought about sending you props to Mark and having them worked.

Since this is my last year with this boat I am not going to put anymore funds into as I am saving up for a new one next winter. I did have my prop guy contact Mark and he helped him get the cup and pitch correct which did add about 5 miles an hour.

I am just curious to know what other people are running.

I am sure I will get back up to at least the high 60's once I put the spacer back in its proper place. I can;t believe I missed that reinstalling them after my guy worked on them.

TRP 150 comes with 200 heads on it.

Are you kidding me!!!!!!!! So a 150 TRP actully is a 200 hp under the cowl? Geeze I passed up a skeeter with a150 trp because I opted to get a rig with a 175..... man that would have been good to know then.

Where did you get this information, are you a mechanic?

Well sorta....TRP is all 150 parts, except the heads..,they are the 200 heads. One other thing with a different part # is the crankcase assembly....telling me that it may have different porting, but it's not the 200's part #!!
TRP even uses same carbs and jetting as the 150.


Some things of note...
150/175 same heads
175/200 same CDI
all three use different crankcase assemblys...different porting?
