    20I set up issues

    Skeeter 20I
    Yamaha Series 1 250 Vmax
    5-8k absl
Have read a bunch on em but cannot find a good high altitude prop. I am currently running the 25t1 at 5300rpms full throttle. I will get the pad measurement tonight. 20lbs water pressure or more at full throttle running about 63 with full tanks and a tournament load and a full well at 7k feet absl.

I bought a 23t1 thinking that it would get me the rpms I want but with 2 guys and full gas tanks I cannot get on plane with it it will blow out around 3500 or so rpms just as its about to drop on plane. Any ideas?

Sounds like motor height is way too low or engine trouble. Has it always ran this way ? Currently running the 25t1 on an 06-20i that has been b/p by Mark at approx 1" below the pad turning 5900 to 6000 rpm @ 76 mph in high humidity conditions. I had to come way up on the motor height as you can see to get these numbers. I also had to change jack plate to motor holes to ge that high. Still running 20+ lbs of water at wot.

Gotta factor the 8k feet absl for the slow speeds and rpms.

You can plug the vent holes with JB Weld and then Dremel them open a little at a time once they harden.

Are you throwing a moster tail with that? Just wondering I will ck my height tonight but I can spin the 25 the problem here is altitude and a heavy load. We lost about 10mph at 8k feet as to what I had at Amistad

Expected to but actually am not, just a little over the top of the cowling when looking back at wot. Steering torque is high though. When I changed bolt holes I started at 1 3/4 below the pad which is where I heard the 20i sets up the best but saw little difference until I closed in on 1". Thats where the real changes in speed and rpm's started showing up along with the torque in the steering

What are your slow speed planing #'s and does it porpoise at lower speeds?

Re: 20I set up issues (Partimefisher)

I sent this boat back to the factory for the porpoising issue last December. They made the hull repairs which took care of most of the issues. With the motor as high as it is now, some of that returned at the slower speeds when I run around 3 to 4k rpm's but I can live with what came back for the extra speed
