Super Skeeter...

Does anyone have information about the Super Skeeter? It was about 15' long and took upto a 30HP motor, I believe. Are they hard to find used?

I have a 1967 Model that I am restoring right now. The Super Skeeter was the first bass boat (Actually the orginal was Wooden). THe Super Skeeter was first bass boat to use composite materials - fiberglass in the construction. I have some images on my website: http://www.dougvahrenberg.com/Skeeter.html

I have seen several for sale on the internet in the past. I searched by the year + skeeter to find most of them. They were very popular in Louisiana and East Texas for the shallow water swamps. Neat boats - can't wait to get mine restored and finished.

I have found 2 for sale. One is an original owner with a 1966 1500 Super Skeeter. He says it is an all original boat and when I asked what his price was, he said $3000. He said it hasn't been run in several years and has been kept in his boat house. The other one is more reasonable except it has been painted camo for a duck boat, but it has the original Johnson motor with it and he has it priced at $1600.
