yes just had the same problem.. took it back to dealer and was fixed in seconds. the terminals were to close together the said .. stopped at the lake going home, problem was fixed
I'm not saying this is your problem, but I would check here first. I'll try to explain this as this problem WILL happen to EVERY boat owner and the cost to fix is a few dollars. These plastic trim rings break all the time and it's wise to buy 2-3 of them at a time.
Check or replace the black plastic clip that's located in the bottom if the motor just behind the steering arm. I don't know what the technical name is.. but it's shown in the pictures:
