    2004 ZX 225

First post. I've been lurking for awhile now, and have learned so much reading everyone's posts. Thanks to all.

I just put a down payment on a 2004 ZX 225. This is my first boat, and even though it was more boat than I was looking for, the price was right and the boat appears to be in great shape. If everything checks out, I will be a proud owner.

Anything I should look out for when I test drive it? I've have the engine print out, and everything there looks OK. The lower unit shows no signs of wear, and the prop is in excellent shape. Words of advice would be welcome and appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

    Eric

The storage under the driver and passenger seats will get very wet in the rain. Not much you can do to keep them dry, but just be aware of it and air them out when you get home. Don't let the bunge rod straps slip out of your hand when extended...they can snap back and chip the gel coat. The Skeeter logo piece that is in the middle of the steering wheel can come loose and get lost if you don't put a small bead of silicone sealant around the plug that seats into the steering wheel. All minor stuff.

Otherwise, you will love the boat. GREAT rig. Congrats.

Oh...and if you fish any tournaments, check out the Real Money program on the Skeeter site!

Get the motor checked out, I know of 5 blown powereheads on 04's I would stay away unless there is warranty.

I would see what prop is on it also. If it is the T prop from Yamaha, then I would try and trade it out. I just got a zx250 and threw a blade on my second trip out.

That boat should have a VMAX T1 25p prop on it. If you have a M series prop then change it. I've heard of alot of people slinging blades on a M series prop on a HPDI,
