I have a 25m prop. when i push the hot foot the rpms go to 4000 with motor trimmed down, I can get rpms to 5100 trimming the motor up. but still no speed. when I let off to 3000 rpm and push the hot foot down i can get the rpms up to 4500 only. what is the problem help?

possibly your hotfoot cable need adjusting and isnt letting it go full throttle? Just to get things straight, you are taking off with it trimmed down, then once on plane you trim it on up all the way and its only getting up to 5100rpms?

First of all "Welcome to BBC!"

I think Jay may be right. When you press the pedal down all the way have someone look at the throttle cable inside the motor to make sure it's opening all the way to the stop. Same goes for the pedal.

If you have not reached the break-in time yet, the motor is designed to keep power and rpm's low to prevent damage. When you have broken it in properly, it will run as designed. When I first got my 20i I thought my 250 HPDI was broken, but when I reached break-in time it just took off like a mad man. I hope that's the case with yours.

That sound more like a fuel delivery problem to me. Bad check valve in primer bulb, pinhole in fuel pump diaphram, bad fuel pump, fouled oxygen sensor or fouled spark plugs would be my list of suspects. When is the last time you changed the plugs? Do you run Ring Free or Sea Foam? After you pump the primer bulb up does it stay firm?
