The rev limiter comes in at about 6150rpm. It is basically there to keep you from blowing the motor up. I would not be afraid of an engine that has hit it once or twice but I would not want to see one that someone limited out everytime they hit the water. That should not be the case if it is propped right anyway.
The Racor filter can be bought at http://www.boatfix.com for $62.72+shipping. I ordered mine today. The one you want is the 60gph model with the clear bowl on the bottom so you can see if there is any water in it. It has a little relief valve on the bottom to drain the water out. Racor makes another one just for Yammie that has a water sensor built into the bottom of the bowl. Just make sure they don't try to give you the one that looks like a oil filter and has no bowl at the bottom. It's not a Racor and there is no way to know if it has water in it without taking it off and pouring the contents into a glass jar. You can see some photos of them over on the Yammie forum. The topic comes up over there quite often and Yammie is recommending them on all the HPDIs now.
As far as the chip goes you can get a small repair kit at most marine shops. If it is in a white area you can use white Marine Tex to repair it also. I had a scrape on the side of mine. It got into the black metal flake. I used a black permanent marker to darken the flake back out and then used the clear gelcoat patch kit to cover it. You wouldn't even be able to find it now unless I pointed it out to ya and it's real hard for even me to find. Good luck on the new boat and post some pics when you get it.
