2006 Ranger Z20 Livewell Question

I was fishing a tourney the other day and had fish in the well and made a run and started fishing a new spot and herd the fish raising cane. Looked inside well and all the water had went out. It seems that i have had this happen maybe one time before but not sure. I always back the boat in the water and put my control empty until i catch a fish to go in well then i put it on auto and fill it up to the desired level then switch it over to recirculate with the livewells running. This has always kept the water in the well that i started with. For some reason it has happened a couple times that in doing this same thing the water had emptied out. Has anyone got any suggestions to what might have happened? Thanks for any help.

Your valve may not be closing all the way when you put it in recirc. A very small piece of anything can keep your valve from closing up. Take the top off your valve and clean it out really good, or just buy a new valve and replace the entire thing.

Not much of a mechanic. Where is the valve you are talking about? Thanks

Not 100% positive on a 2006 Z20, but every other Ranger I have owned and been on were accessible in the back bilge compartment.
