Propping new boats from the factory.

Ordering my new sled this week!! I've about done all the research imaginable and it looks like the Z519 loaded to the gills will be on order to Ranger. I actually could have taken a new Z521 home as it sat on the showroom floor for the same price, but I refused to forego the addition of powerpoles, upgraded electronics, and other options which added a tremendous amount to the final total, so I settled on the Z519. I do have a question about what prop will be installed on the 225 Pro XS. I know Ranger does a good bit of on the water testing, but can anyone tell me the characteristics of different props on this rig? Is the Fury better than the Tempest here? Does a Trophy even factor in for performance? Are there aftermarket props like Hydromotive that make better performance choices? Does the customer have a choice on prop selection or does Ranger put the best prop for the boat /motor combo that they've tested?

The Fury should be better than the Tempest, but no two boats or no two props are the same. No one carries the same equipment so fine tuning has to be done on the water once the motor is broken in.

I have always rig my boats to get the max out of them and it is a must to have the props blue printed and balanced to get the extra 1.5-2 mph out of the props and boats.

All of my Fury's have been faster than the Tempests.

.............I have ran basically every prop combo that you can imagine on my boat. Testing, checking performance, etc. etc. The best prop for your hull and engine...........which is the same as mine , is a 25"' Tempest Plus (preferably BB'd). On the prop have two large hole plugs in it and leave the third hole open. Boat is like a slingshot out of the hole with this prop and top end at WOT will impress you Sir. Set the engine and prop on a good 8" JP with the pad to center shaft dead on at 3.25". Ranger will put the 25" Tempest on the prop if that is what you dicide on. The 225 ProXS is a "hoss" on this hull and almost like driving a Corvette on the water. If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to ring my bell....................Good luck and when you get her please post some pics for us.......................RR P.S. On my boat the Tempest is a better prop than the Fury................don't ask me why, it just is. I tried two different Fury's and the Tempest won out over each one of them.

Totally agree with "Tempest Plus" i have been running one for 4 years, about a week ago i fell for all the hoopla about a fury spend alot of money for a new one to include a new solid hub kit for the torquemaster. This is a brand new 225 Pro Xs on a Z20 with a Tackle store in all compartments (lot of weight) 4 Batt, Jack plate, talon name it its got it. The Fury Prop don't compare to the Tempest Plus on a boat like mine. Save your money! Yes i got the same vent plug setup like stated. New to the board hope i posted or replied correctly

On that Z20, you should've bought Mark's 4 blade Razor. My buddy is running one on his and it's awesome. I ran a B&B 25 tempest by Mark on my Z20 and I can tell you that Razor is a better prop on that hull.

Don't know anything about a razor or Mark Fill me in. I'm going to try it a couple of more times with different vent plugs, if no or little improvement it will be for sale(the FURY that is) and i may be interested in what you are talking about.
