    Questions on 721

My buddy took delivery of his new 721 about a month ago and we just back from a week long trip to Pickwick and I wanted to see how the numbers compare. It has a 250 Pro XS w/ 26 Fury. With a 2 guys, full tank of gas, empty livewell, and tourney gear, we hit 75.9 MPH. Wanted to see how that compares to others. It seems really good and like they got the set up pretty close to perfect. BTW, I have no idea the "inches below pad" of the motor set-up.

Sounds like its running good to me. What did you think about the ride and the way the boat handled?

That's really good, today 3/4 tank gas and 2 people best I could get was 74 and I played with the jackplate a lot and could not get more than 74.

I ran 76.2 mph with the same load as you in march but I had an E-tec with L2gearcase and right aftger that my gearcase blew up..... go figure.

I use to run 75.5 with full fuel, 460 pounds of men all gear and full livewells with 10 pounds of fish with the L2 but it is a different animal with the new and improved slow a$$ M2.

That's pretty good. My 721 w/ the 250 ProXS broke 80 with a light load by myself. With two people, loaded to fish, it was a 76-77 mph boat. By myself loaded it was 78-79. I was spinning a 27 Tempest. 24 volt trolling motor. I also had a 12" jackplate.

I like the boat. I am a "detail" guy and am very impressed with the quality of the build on the little things...The boat rode good..of course Lake of the Ozarks will be the real test. It is by buddy's first boat that you actually have to "drive" so that took a while to get used to. I LOVE the center console in between the drivers seat and passenger's. THe little daybox by the cooler is nice. If I have 1 complaint it would be the tackle storage layout...it is nice if you are using the exact boxes they are built to hold...but it lacks a little bit of flexibility for deeper boxes etc...don't get offended...just being nitpicky...Overall, I am more impressed than I thought I would be...

    Re: Questions on 721 (steve1206)

Had the same concerns/questions (how do I set this thing up) when I got mine as the RTS was new to me as everyone else.

Here's how mine is set up most of the time. It's a little different for Fall fishing as I use a lot of different baits through the day so I move stuff around a bit more this time of year. Other than these 4-5 weeks of pure fishing Heaven, I have it set up as follows:

RTS - All hard baits (topwater, jerkbaits, cranks, flutter spoons, etc) and all up front.

Big storage area - 3700 boxes in all slots but 2. Have Falcon spinnerbait boxes in 2 of the slots and the sides have the big Plano guide boxes (8 of them) with soft plastics in them that stay along the sides thanks to the bungees.

Here's how it looks most of the time although I had some 3600 boxes up front with frogs in them and spoons that I wanted quick access too that day. I usually keep whatever soft plastics I'm using that day pinned up on the bait rack mounted to the underside of the lid (jig trailers, flukes, etc).
